Formed in 1971 by journalists and doctors in France, Doctors Without Borders acts as an international charitable organization that assists those in need. Currently, the organization helps those in more than 60 countries whose well-being is in peril due to natural disasters, lack of health care, armed conflicts, or malnutrition.

Every two months, the organization hosts an informational session at its New York offices. It is an opportunity for medical professionals and non-medical aids to learn more about the organization and how individuals can become more involved. Typically, these sessions involve a question and answer session through a webinar format. For those unable to travel to New York, it also holds a live recruitment teleconference and webinar.
